Sound Meter

Sound Meter app is shows a decibel values by measure the environmental noise, displays measured dB values in various forms.

FS (dbFS, Full Scale) where 0 dB is the maximum power that the microphone can measure, so the decibel values are negative because the measured power is less than the maximum power.

SPL (Sound pressure level) or acoustic pressure level is a logarithmic measure of the effective pressure of a sound relative to a reference value. The lower limit of audibility is defined as SPL of 0 dB, but the upper limit is not as clearly defined.

RMS (Root mean square) - the energy level of a signal is usually characterized by the square root of the mean energy and this quantity is named the RMS value of the signal function

Microphones in most phone devices are aligned to human voice. The maximum values are limited by the device. Very loud sounds(over ~90 dB) may not be recognized in most devices. So please use it as just an auxiliary tools. If you need more accurate dB values, we recommend a actual sound level meter for that.

The value of sound meter is not as precise as an actual Sound Pressure Level Meter (SPL meter) sound meter, this is due to most device's microphone are aligned to the human voice. To fix this:

1) Go to a very quiet place where sound cannot hear.

2) Remember the level of RMS

3) Put this value in "Quiet Place Level (RMS)" field and save.

4). To reset adjustment put value "0".

Airport Codes

An IATA airport code, also known as an IATA location identifier, IATA station code or simply a location identifier, is a three-letter code designating many airports around the world, defined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The characters prominently displayed on baggage tags attached at airport check-in desks are an example of a way these codes are used.

The assignment of these codes is governed by IATA Resolution 763, and it is administered by IATA headquarters in Montreal. The codes are published semiannually in the IATA Airline Coding Directory.

IATA also provides codes for railway stations and for airport handling entities. A list of airports sorted by IATA code is available. A list of railway station codes, shared in agreements between airlines and rail lines such as Amtrak, SNCF French Rail, and Deutsche Bahn, is available. There is also a separate list of Amtrak station codes, three-character codes used by Amtrak for its railway stations in the United States and Canada.

Country Codes

Do you ever get a phone call from an area code that you don't recognize? Country Codes app offers you the country codes from all countries and regions around the world. The app will allow you to search prefixes through the country/region name, or countries/regions through the prefix.

Country calling codes or country dial-in codes are telephone number prefixes for reaching telephone subscribers in the networks of the member countries or regions of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Country codes are a component of the international telephone numbering plan, and are necessary only when dialing a telephone number to establish a call to another country. Country codes are dialed before the national telephone number. By convention, international telephone numbers are represented by prefixing the country code with a plus sign (+), which also indicates to the subscriber that the local international call prefix must first be dialed.
